Priced at \u00a5198 (about $1.30) for a 200ml bottle, this &#8220;mayonnaise-style drink&#8221; clearly states on its label that it is &#8220;not mayonnaise.\u201c The ingredients include milk, milk ingredients, and mayonnaise seasoning, creating a chilled drink targeted at mayonnaise fans.<\/p>\n<p>We at Hela were curious about how this drink tasted and decided to whip up a batch to taste test. We started by thinking of this drink as more of a savoury eggnog and building the recipe up from there. We used extra egg yolk, and a touch of MSG because we\u2019re matching the flavour of Japanese mayo after all.<\/p>\n<p>While we haven&#8217;t taste the Nomu Mayo drink, we can say that our version was a success, it tasted like mayo, had a rich creamy texture, pronounced egg yolk flavour and umami from the MSG. While we were successful, it&#8217;s not a drink anyone will be in a hurry to try again!
